Coastal Dental Care
If you have lost one or more teeth, dental implants may be the best solution for you. Coastal Dental Care provides dental implants for patients on the Gold Coast and Northern NSW.
When you lose a tooth, the jawbone that holds the tooth root starts to dissolve. This is due in part because teeth provide stimulation to your jaw, so when you lose a tooth that stimulation goes and your jawbone starts to shrink. By replacing a tooth with dental implant treatment, you are helping to maintain the health of your jaw, gums and remaining teeth.
A dental implant is a titanium screw that is surgically inserted into the site of the missing tooth root. As the mouth heals, approximately four to six months after surgery, the bone and implant begin to fuse together. Small posts are then attached to the Implants, which are used to anchor crowns or bridges.
Replacing your missing teeth will not only benefit your facial appearance but also your oral and general well-being. Once a missing tooth is replaced you will be able to eat and speak as you did previously, things that people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost.
Many people who have dentures complain about being unable to eat whatever they like and the constant shifting and lifting of their denture.
Now we have an exciting solution to offer. Mini-implants are being routinely used to stabilise full upper or lower dentures.
The implant itself acts as a root or anchor for the tooth to be attached to. With denture stabilisation, a number of implants are used and the denture is modified to “click” onto these. The treatment is ideal for patients who have been told that they do not have enough bone for conventional implants.
During your dental implant treatment, our dedicated team will ensure every possible step is taken to make you feel relaxed and at ease. Precise post-surgical instructions are also provided to promote fast and effective healing.
There is no registrable speciality in Australia pertaining specifically to implants. Dental implant treatment is carried in whole or part by dentists, periodontists, oral surgeons and prosthodontists. Dental implant therapy encompasses multiple areas of dentistry and as such there are only very few implant only specialised centres.
Dental Implants and Aesthetics is such a centre, Dr Franck Page is one of the first dentists who graduated with a Master in Clinical Dent (Implants) degree in 2012. He received his surgical and clinical training at the Branemark Centre in Perth under the tutelage of Prof Pat Henry more than 10 years ago. He is a clinical mentor and lecturer for Nobel Biocare, one of the leading and most documented implant systems in the world.
