Tooth-coloured fillings enable you to maintain your beautiful white smile even if you require dental work. Coastal Dental Care provides tooth-coloured fillings to patients on the Gold Coast and NSW.
No longer is it necessary for unsightly amalgam (mercury) fillings to be used in dental treatments. Virtually invisible, tooth-coloured fillings make your teeth appear whiter, brighter and healthier than before. It is now possible to have tooth-coloured fillings created to match the exact colour, shape, texture and translucency of your existing teeth.
Tooth-coloured fillings are not only limited to new dental repairs, older restorations may also be replaced. These aesthetic materials will help give your smile a new lease on life.
|The Procedure||What’s Involved?||Treatment Length||Number Of Visits|
|Tooth-coloured fillings – better aesthetics and better health||Keep your smile beautiful and white thanks to virtually-invisible, tooth-coloured fillings which can be made to perfectly match the aesthetics of your existing teeth. They’re also much better for your health!||Dependent on the size and amount of fillings required||Tooth-coloured fillings can be completed in a single appointment, or may be spaced over multiple appointments if required|
Why are tooth-coloured fillings heathier than amalgam fillings?
Tooth-coloured fillings are less invasive, healthier and look good. With amalgam fillings healthy tooth structure is drilled away and the amalgam filling is placed. However, the amalgam filling does not cover the whole cavity which means decay can return under the amalgam filling. With tooth-coloured fillings only the decay is removed: then the composite resin fills the hole left by decay.
On top of that, amalgam fillings have been known to expand and contract in heat causing teeth to crack: this does not happen with tooth-coloured fillings.
