Dental care without the fear
If you find you’re overwhelmed by the noises, smells and sounds you encounter during a visit to the dentist, Sedation dentistry could be the solution you’ve been searching for.
We offer our patients the options of undergoing their dental treatment under Oral Sedation (medicine taken 1 hour before your dental appointment) or Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) administered in the dental clinic. For those who wish to completely asleep we can offer general anaesthesia at the Gold Coast Private Hospital with Dr Eardley Rozario, who is both a qualified dentist and medical doctor.
The general anaesthesia is administered by a Specialist Anaesthetist in the state of the art operating theatres of Gold Coast Private Hospital.
Thanks to his post graduate training and extensive experience, Dr Rozario is able to ‘performing your dental treatments while you are either sedated or fully asleep, taking the stress out of your dental visit.
Dr Rozario offers Sedation dentistry from Cabarita Dental Care, Emerald Lakes Dental Care, and The White Bite.
How does sedation dentistry work?
Oral sedation or Nitrous Oxide creates a state of calm or relaxation, which will allow the majority of dental procedures to be performed taking the stress out of your dental visit.
General anaesthesia puts your body into a temporary, controlled, and closely monitored state of unconsciousness where you are fully relaxed and at ease.
While you are under the anaesthetic, Dr Rozario is then able complete your treatment without the risk of your protective reflexes interfering.
It is important to remember every treatment comes with associated risks, and we recommend that you share your concerns with our knowledgeable team if you have any queries about your dental treatment.
Can anyone undergo dentistry under a general anaesthetic?
General anaesthetic can be administered to a vast majority of our patients, and depending on your health circumstances it can be a great solution for those who have a dental phobia.
To find out for certain if you are a suitable candidate for sleep dentistry, please contact Cabarita Dental Care, Emerald Lakes Dental Care or The White Bite to request a consultation.
If you have any concerns or questions about the procedure, please bring this up with Dr Rozario at your initial consultation. We recommend you bring any dental x-rays and relevant medical history with you.
It should be noted that you may be required to sit in the dental chair at your consultation for a non-invasive and painless assessment of your dental issue so that we can plan your treatment. Don’t stress though – we promise we will leave the dental work for when you’re comfortably ‘asleep’.
